This is a proposed design for skyscrapers that "could protect humans from an extreme natural disaster and sustain them long enough to start civilization over again." Obviously, zombies are an unnatural disaster, but I see no reason why we shouldn't begin constructing these RIGHT NOW.

Interesting how the number one priority is data storage, and communication. A major consideration of a zombie apocalypse would be the downfall of global society as we know it. This gentleman, however, seems to have designed something that could 'get around' this inconvenience, uploading of information from around the world, backup systems, etc. His plans even account for earthquakes...the only thing I am still left wondering about is the above-ground nature of the building. If the landscape is as bleak and unforgiving as the picture, why not opt for a Matrix/Zion situation, underground?

  3. While I agree with Rachel that an underground situation sounds good from a protection standpoint, the lack of sunlight would make food cultivation and the storage of solar power difficult. It is still possible and possibly worth the inconvenience of having to protect the above ground assets but it would definitely present certain issues.
