As leaders for our group we looked at religion from a leadership perspective, understanding that safety, productivity, and continued survival were paramount concerns. We realized that depending on geographic locations, the emphasis on religion culturally changes drastically, ie. if you're in the bible belt, religion might be a factor that has to be reconciled in the community.

That said, in our community we decided/ruled that we would have less of an emphasis on organized religion, as this might cause conflict in the larger community. We favor a secular government that puts an emphasis on progress and safety for the community. We believe this would hopefully generate hope/direction while minimizing conflicts with any particular religious body.

Our core beliefs:
Loosely structured around rules for survival.
Promoting progress, future/world building.

Of course, everyone is entitled to their own religious beliefs and our free to practice them in their own homes or in small respectful organized meetings, as long as they dont conflict with the larger community.

Think Woodbury.
