As citizens of Wally World, we have abandoned faith in religion in the face of the zombie apocalypse.  With the arrival of zombies, and their indiscriminate feasting, we realized that there is no deity looking out for us and that praying is futile.  We have come to terms with our inevitable death and embrace the notion that only we are responsible for our lives.  Zombies do not recognize whether a person has led a "good" or "bad" life; they simply desire brains.  There is no point to living in fear, in the Buddhist tradition we have attempted to divest ourselves of attachments and live in the present moment.  Your mother, son, or brother may be eaten tomorrow, so it will only hinder your own development to try to hold onto them. We believe that our own futures are dependent on our ability to live from day to day without the false comfort of belief in an omnipotent god.
